Materials published by the state officials, independent researchers, and international organizations serve an evidence to this.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The main trends which define the social and ecological situation in the country are:<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 economic growth based on increase of extraction of natural resources;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 increase of dependency of the economy of the country on raw material sectors;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 deteriorating condition of water resources;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 increasing pollution of soil and atmosphere;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 growth of sickness rate caused by environmental pollution;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 continuing deterioration of the state environmental protection system;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 weakening of legislation in favor of polluters;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 failure to follow obligations of the international and national legislation by the state authorities of all levels;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 high level of corruption;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 limitation of public access to the national natural resources;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 restriction of public access to environmental information, decision-making process, and justice in the matters related to the environment;<br \/>\n&#8212;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 massive violations of human rights on favorable environment.<strong>More details: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/H2014-006-socecoEngl003.rtf\">Social and Ecological Situation in Kazakhstan: Facts and Numbers<\/a>\u00a0(Green Salvation Herald 2014.
